Saturday - Sunday, June 7 - 8

The 42nd Indiana Infantry re-enactors will conduct an authentic Civil War encampment on the lawn of the History Center on Saturday, June 7 and into Sunday morning June 8. The fully equipped infantry, led by long-time re-enactor Joel Foust, will demonstrate weaponry, camp cooking and medical treatment along with real musket drills.

We are planning family-friendly programs in the Education Room on Saturday, including a first-person presentation “A Visit with Lincoln.” Coinciding with the encampment is a traveling exhibition of photos of Abraham Lincoln on loan to the History Center from the Indiana Historical Society to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth.
