The original Tastes of Monroe County Cookbook was such a success that the Monroe County History Center has decided to issue volume 2. If you participated in the original Tastes of Monroe County Cookbook, we thank you, and invite you to contribute once again. If you weren't included in Volume 1, be sure to send your recipes in by August 15, so you, too, can be a part of the culinary history of Monroe County.

We are looking for ANY favorite recipes! Recipes from restaurants or special events are especially welcome. Recipes don't have to be original -- just good!

Name-the-Cookbook Contest

We need a catchy title for the second edition of the “Tastes of Monroe County” cookbook. The winner of the Name-the-Cookbook contest will get five complimentary cookbooks – great gifts. Send your ideas to me, sshelden@yahoo.com, or contact the History Center, 332-2517. The book will be published in November, just in time for holiday sales. The first cookbook was an excellent fundraiser for the History Center.
