Opens May 20. A special exhibit celebrating the 100th
anniversary of the Monroe County Courthouse and chronicling the
construction and restoration of this handsome limestone Beaux Arts
style building. The exhibit will include copper pieces removed from
the courthouse dome last summer, the original 1907 architectural
drawing for the courthouse, and carving tools that belonged to Albert
Molnar, the sculptor who carved the “Light of the World” figures on
the south side of the courthouse. Closes September 27.
"Life in 1908"

everyday items common to 1908 Monroe County homes: toys, cooking
utensils, fashions, and furnishings. Copies of the 1907 Sanborn Fire
Insurance maps of Bloomington will document structures in the central
part of the city. Local and world events will also be featured for
this “boom year” – 1908.
Closes September 27.
