Case Exhibit: The Humpty Dumpty Circus

This special toy set was patented in 1903 and was manufactured in Philadelphia by a German born toy maker. Come see why these toys are so unique in this free exhibit in the Deckard Education Room. Exhibit open through April 29, 2017.

 

Textile Case Exhibit: Star of Indiana

 

The Star of Indiana Drum and Bugle Corps was founded in 1984 in Bloomington with the aid of Bill Cook. The band was the first in history to place in the top ten during its first year at the Drum Corps International World Championship in 1985. Check out Star of Indiana uniforms on display now from our collection. This free exhibit will be open through May on the first floor.

 

Dot and Eugene

The Oil Paintings of Dr. Matthew A. Parmenter

The Monroe County History Center is honored to bring the exhibit Dot and Eugene to the first floor of the History Center from April 7 to July 14. There will be an opening event on Friday April 7 from 5pm to 7pm. The artist, local surgeon Dr. Matthew A. Parmenter, will be our guest, discussing his work and inspiration. This event is free and open to the public. This exhibit showcases oil paintings created by Dr. Parmenter in honor of his parents, Dot and Harlen “Eugene” Parmenter.
