The Cook Gallery is a permanent gallery featuring the history of Monroe County from its settlement period to the culture of today, including industrial advancement, education, and lifestyles. Come walk through our 1880s School House and authentic 1830s Pioneer Cabin, and meet the ever-popular Schmalz Bear, now officially named Monroe. We feature an exhibit about the Gentry Bother’s Circus, once a nationwide house hold name and you can learn more about the Gentry Brother’s here

Phase one of the Interactive Initiative is now open. This Gateway features a sampling of the Cook Permanent Gallery exhibits. Drop by and hear our bear, Monroe, roar, and sample local music.
