The History Center is a building in downtown Bloomington, Indiana, one block east of the Square at the corner of 6th and Washington Streets. It is home of the Monroe County Historical Society, the museum, genealogy library, and store

Parking:

Free street parking is strictly limited to 2 hours.
A metered lot directly east (on the side opposite the Washington St. main entrance) of the History Center can be used.

Admission Fees:

Admission to the Museum is free to members (and a number of guests depending on membership level). Adults' admission is $2 and for children 5 - 18 admission is $1; 4 & under free.

Genealogy Library After Hours:

If you are from out of town and have special requirements on your visiting times that do not match the genealogy library hours, we suggest you call the library 812-355-5588, or the museum office 812-332-2517 during normal open hours, or email either the Museum Office or the Library Director and try to make special arrangements if possible. Sometimes it is possible to accommodate special needs.
