Shoppers at the 2020 Garage Sale.
The annual Gayle Cook Garage Sale is our biggest fundraiser every year. Powered by the dedicated work of volunteers, it’s held the second weekend in June. It is quite an exciting time. From antiques to household items, there is sure to be something for everyone. All items are donated from the public and proceeds support the artifact preservation, exhibits, and programs at the Monroe County History Center.
Please note: The Gayle Cook Garage Sale is moving to our new location in Ellettsville. We appreciate all of your patience as the new location is renovated and prepped for our use. Once we have dates for donations, they will be publicized here, on social media, and many more places.
June 2027 Dates:
MCHC Members and Cook Employee Day: Wednesday, June 9th is an early access day for current MCHC members and Cook employees. Doors open at 8:00 am and last until 6:00 pm.
Public Days:
Friday, June 11th and Saturday, June 12th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Monday, June 14th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Donating to Annual Garage Sale Extravaganza
We are working to clear out the old warehouse and the new warehouse is being renovated. As soon as we know the drop off donation schedule we will promote it far and wide! Stay tuned for specific days and times.
Donations are tax-deductible and we provide a signed donation form to use when filing your taxes.
Items we can’t accept: old computers, beds and accessories (including: mattresses, frames, headboards, footboards), old TVs, nonworking appliances, nonworking lamps, plants, exercise equipment, or clothing (unless the clothing is collectible vintage), rugs, entertainment centers, large executive desks (L- or U-shaped), telephones, VCRS, 8-tracks, cassette tapes & recorders, and stereo receivers.
