To celebrate the opening of the See Her Run: Monroe County Women in Politics exhibit at the Monroe County History Center, Hilary Fleck, Collection Manager, and Glenda Murray, Monroe County Historian, discuss the women highlighted in the exhibit in this video premiere. Over 300 women have been elected to public office in Monroe County. Hilary and Glenda will also talk about groundbreaking women who helped shape our community through public service, such as Elizabeth Bridgwaters, the first Black woman elected to the school board, and Phyllis Kenworthy, the first female elected judge.
