World War II veterans changed the college experience to what it is today. Ideas of access to college, inclusion of women and minorities, support for students with families, and emphasis on personal interests in course selection all became norms. Using Woodlawn Courts as an example, John Summerlot will discuss both the successes and limitations of these social changes on IU culture.
