Christine Friesel will speak on Hoosier Character: 19th Century on the Square as part of the America 250 celebration. More details can be found on The Monroe County History Club Facebook page. This group operates independently from the History Center, but we’re always glad to support their work and encourage folks to attend.

The History Club hosts a monthly speaker series at the American Legion. Each month features a different topic of local interest. The event is free and open to the public. Presentations begin at 12:30 pm and usually last about an hour, followed by Q&A. Lunch is available to order from a special Legion menu. Arriving before 12:30 is recommended, as some programs draw a full crowd.
