DIRECTIONS:

Getting to the Monroe County History Center is easy!

Our street address is 202 E 6th Street. We are in the heart of downtown Bloomington, the MCHC property is located on the corner of Sixth and Washington Streets, one block east of the courthouse square. 

Although our address is listed for 6th street, our entrance is handicap accessible and is located on the west side of the building off of Washington Street (across from Baked!) 

HOURS:

Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.

HOLIDAY HOURS:

We are closed the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.

Research Library is by appointment only.

ADMISSION FEES:

Admission to the Museum is $2 for adults, $1 for children ages 6-17yrs, and free to children under 6yrs and Museum Members. Membership starts at just $40 per year for an individual and may be purchased onsite or online here: Join MCHC.
Admission to the Genealogy Research Library is free during regular History Center hours.
